Pool Remodel

This this the first day in our pool remodel. The pool is being drained.

The water is out, then the tiles and ladder steps were removed and the plaster was chizelled.

After that, the pool was sandblasted.

a bond coat was applied to give the new plaster something to adhere to

the new tiles were installed.

the old decking was ground off

the tiles and ladder were masked off

a base coat was sprayed on and troweled

the color coat was added

the new plaster was installed and the pool begins to fill...

... now that the pool is full it is time for the hard work to begin (my job is to brush it). Since we chose the 3M Colorquartz Caribbean Blue Blend Premium Level Crystals in plaster, it was recommended that an acid start-up be done. Started with 4 gallons of muratic acid and brushed twice a day for the first three days. After checking with the pool plastering salesman I added mor acid and stepped it up to three brushings a day.
